Simon Reed Apologizes Before the World for Offending the GOAT and His Fans

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/tennis/simon-reed/article/1747/

The notorious tennis writer, Simon Reed, has finally admitted his mistakes and apologized to Fedfanatics across  the world that he was indeed wrong about the demise of Roger, and that Andy Murray is not quite ‘the true nr. 1’ yet. You may remember a piece I did last year, Simon Reed is a Clown, where Simon Read said that Murray was the favourite to win Wimbledon and that he was the true world number one. We all know what happened since then. Murray lost to Roddick in the semi’s and Roger went on to win the most grand slams in history by winning the title. He also went on to take back the nr. 1 spot, and has now won his 16th major at the Oz Open. You would have thought that Reed would have made this kind of apology earlier, like when Roger won Wimbledon, or when he took back the number one ranking, but it takes a lot more for Reed to apologize than that.

It didn’t matter either to Reed that Roger beat Murray twice in the mean time either, or that Murray did not end the year nr. 1, but nr. 4. Also it didn’t matter to Reed that Murray lost to Cilic in the fourth round of the US Open, after he predicted Murray would take the title. Reed also claimed that Roger was ‘handed’ the French Open and Wimbledon, and therefore Murray was the favourite to take the US Open. Maybe it wasn’t the nicest thing to call Reed a clown, but at the time I was kind of shocked what a tennis commentator and  a person who writes for Eurosport would write. Now I just don’t care anymore. As for the apology, in the spirit of a true Fedfanatic I will accept the apology, but I can never take any of Simon Reeds writing seriously again. Not that I ever did.The guy is simply too biased and doesn’t show nearly enough respect for the best player in the world.

As someone who writes for such a widely read website as Eurosport, he doesn’t seem to care much at all about a realistic opinion either. If he had his own blog that was worshipping Murray it would be a different story, but for someone who writes for such a wide audience he is way too self involved. Therefore I can’t respect him as a writer. Some people are now saying that Reed jinxed Roger, because whenever he says something good about a player they go down. You could be excused for believing that Reed has now given Roger the ‘kiss of death’, but luckily I don’t believe in such nonsense. And besides, the GOAT is above such things.

Ps. My problem with this apology is that Reed wrote Roger off because he wanted Roger to be written off, not because he actually thought it was the case. He wants Murray to be the best so badly that he would say anything to make Roger look bad. Now that Roger has gone on to win yet another major, he has no choice but to apologize. That’s why it’s a bit hard to take anything he says seriously.

  1. Frauderer’s resurgence has come because of the strength he has drawn from Nadal being out of the picture! Frauderer was only Rafas ‘bunny’. Whether his game has actually moved on or not, I would question – I think it’s more likely that his nemesis has just weakened, and the rest are not having access to the swiss doping industry he uses so efficiently (see toilet break against Davidenko, how more obvious could it be?)

Ugh… LOL. If the issue was doping, Rafa is the more likely of the two to use them. We have never seen anyone bar none running like a rabbit like that for 5 hours 2 consecutive matches in the history of tennis or any sport. The shots also has hugely abnormal amounts of topspin, which requires pure energy to perform. You know… that’s why they call it “performance-enhancing drugs”. LOL.
Not that I’m saying Rafa is using doping.

  3. Roger doesn’t need to prove anything. He’s simply the best and as far as those people who doubt his capabilities are concerned (this man Reed for example), We the fedex fans simply DO NOT CARE.
Let such people live in such falsehoods n dreams spun by themselves. Why disturb them unnecessarily!!!

  4. Omg, so many fedhaters!to call Roger ”bunny” of Rafa just shows how desperate are some people.let me tell u something: being the GOAT does not really mean he must be able to beat up everyone all the time. Yes, Nadal has a clear edge over Roger but most of victories happened on clay wich is Nadal’s best surface(9-2) .on all other surface Roger hasa 5-4 leading record. u will say is so small the diference but is like that because Roger was more often in the finals and Nanal not. so Nadal was the best on Clay but in all other surfaces Roger is The BEST.

  6. So after years of ignorance the truth finally hit Reed that he’s always been wrong about the decline of Roger & about all the rubbish he said about him. Actually he knew it all along that Rog is the greatest but just didn’t want to accept it.
It’s really shameful for an ”expert” like him to be so biased when he just went on praising his boyfriend murray. But good that Reed finally got some brains.
