It’s been a quiet time for tennis, but things are starting to heat up this week in Washington at the ATP 500 event. Next week of course it is the Toronto Master Series, where Federer will be in action for the first time since Wimbledon. I have missed tennis and seeing Federer play, as I’m sure you have. But the wait is just about over. Next week will be Toronto and the week after that is Cincinnati, and then only a week after Cincinnati the US Open kicks off. Personally I did not have much hope for Roger in the North American tournaments after his poor results at the French Open and Wimbledon. But since then Roger has started working with Paul Annacone, which has given me new hope. The tournaments in Toronto and Cincinnati will now be important for Roger to gain some confidence going into the US Open.
It will also give us an idea of what him and Annacone has been working on and whether it is having immediate effects. So personally I am looking forward to the US hard court season, if only to see what changes Roger is making. It’s like a fresh beginning. Roger also had a vacation and has been training very hard since. I’m not expecting him to all of a sudden set the world on fire with his play, although that is not impossible. I’m not to concerned about that though. Mostly I am just looking forward to see what Federer 2.0 is up to. Below are some pictures of Roger preparing for the Rogers Cup in Toronto. Great to see him back!
