Cincy SF: Fed Routines Baggy 6-4, 6-3

Q. Talk about the match tomorrow and Roger. Last time you played him you beat him. Is he more beatable this year?
MARCOS BAGHDATIS: Yeah. I think so, yeah. He is, but, you know, I’m gonna concentrate on my game. I’m not gonna start thinking if I beat him or if he’s beatable or not.
I think I’ll just go out there and try to find the solution to win like I did last time, just to play very aggressive, serve very well like today, and basically play my game.

  1. That was an amazing match. He gave Baghdatis nothing on his own serve, and broke down Baghdatis’ backhand methodically until it finally gave way in the second set.

90% of first serve points won, no break points against his serve while converting 100% of the ones he had against Baghdatis’ serve. He had multiple service games which lasted barely a minute. Beautiful volleying, chip and charge, very strong return game.

That wasn’t a clinic. That was surgery!

Thanks for the update Steve, i couldnt actually watch the match. 100 % BP conversion rate and backhand DTL winners is showing me Roger is indeed getting back to his devastating best. Going to watch the match now on rerun :D

  2. I shall probably start learning Arabian after watching the you tube video above. The commentator is certainly one that is commenting also football or other “more” passionate matches… :-)
